In honor of Dr. Seuss‘ birthday tomorrow, I thought I’d share a very Cat-In-the-Hat looking James. Shortly after we took this photo James left the NICU for the first time. He was finally stable enough to have tests done on his tummy so we could find out why it was so big and blue. James would have surgery less than a week later to repair a perforated bowel and remove 5 centimeters of his intestine that had grown together. Lots of tears as we watched him being wheeled away from his safe little ‘home’ where we knew what to expect, heading out into the unknown. I’m sure it’s a feeling we’ll experience for years to come as we watch James and see all the places he’ll go.Congratulations! Today is your day. You’re off to Great Places! You’re off and away! …So be sure when you step. Step with care and great tact and remember that Life’s a Great Balancing Act. …And will you succeed? Yes! You will, indeed! (98 and 3/4 percent guaranteed.) KID, YOU’LL MOVE MOUNTAINS!
